Don't despair! You can still order a set from MusicMedic.com!

If your make, model or type of instrument is isn't available on the Pad Sets page-

Choose 'Other (Not Listed)' at the bottom of the list.

You can type or paste the sizes you need for your set into the box that appears above the blue  'Add to Cart' button- or during Checkout you will have the opportunity to provide us with your sizes in the 'Comments' box there, or you can email a list of sizes by replying to the order confirmation email after your checkout is complete

'I think my instrument almost matches one of the ones on the list'

You should -almost certainly- measure for a custom 'Other (Not Listed)' set. We know nobody wants to measure for pads, but it's really the best way if there is a question about make, model, or fitment of pads. Good fitting pads are easier to install, and waiting for replacements is a bummer even if they are guaranteed.

Sometimes sets aren't listed because there are many different makes/ models and it's tough to collect them all. Sometimes sets aren't listed because we've looked at different examples of a make/model- and we've determined that there's enough difference from instrument to instrument that a set isn't possible.

Wondering how to measure for pads?- We got you.

Checkout these guides and videos for measuring different instruments:

MusicMedic recommends measuring the inside diameter of the pad cup, rather than the pad itself.... you will be looking to measure the portion of pad cup that the pad sits in normally. Be sure that you measure at the widest point of the pad or the cup. Take measurments in a couple of different spots to see what the 'average' diameter is.

The pads made by MusicMedic.com are in millimeter sizes, so measuring with a  digital caliper (recommended) or millimeter ruler works best.

Record your sizes:

You don't need to specify which pad goes with each key- we just need a list of pad diameters and sizes. For most sets, you'll probably have lots of duplicate sizes... you can group pads of the same size together. A pad set list might look like:

  • 9mm x 2
  • 16mm x 1
  • 18.5mm x 5
  • 24.0mm x 2
  • Etc...

MusicMedic pads are offered in 0.5mm increments, so you might need to do a little rounding up or down if your cup sizes aren't exactly whole or half millimeter sizes.

For Saxophones- around 10-12 different sizes would be an average distribution- for Clarinets around 5-8 different sizes- for Flutes 4-6 different sizes. The total number of pads in your set will depend on the specific make, model and options of your instrument. Let us know what you need to replace them- they are included in the 'Other (Not Listed)' set.

MusicMedic will make a set for you based on your list...

We'll take the pad choices you picked for your set,  your custom sizes entered before, during, or after after checkout, and make them into a ready-to-install set of pads for your specific instrument.
