Sorbothane is a non-porous, synthetic material that is used to reduce and absorb vibrations. Convenient and easy to apply, this unique silencing material will prevent the "bounce" commonly experienced when a key foot hits the body of a saxophone. It works especially well to prevent this problem on all Mark VI saxophones. Use contact cement or super glue to apply this to an instrument. This can also be used in combination with Ultra Suede or Teflon. If you are using this material with Teflon it is best to use super glue. Sorbothane has a residue on both sides which must be removed prior to any bonding. You can clean this off with dish soap and warm water, letting it air dry provides best results. This material should never be soaked in any substance.
