Slide-Lock Roller Tool

This remarkable tool is the most versatile dent roller on the market and is nothing short of amazing when considering how many applications it can be used for. It outperforms traditional rollers by giving you access to hard-to-reach places, and saves shop space and money by doing the job of many tools with just one. The Slide-Lock Roller Tool was proudly designed and manufactured in-house at MusicMedic in Wilmington, NC. It works in conjunction with Saxophone Body Mandrels, Flute Head Mandrels, Flute Body Mandrels, Trumpet Bell Mandrels and any Brass Repair mandrel where clearance is not an issue.

The MusicMedic Blue handle set is made from solid aerospace 6061 grade anodized aluminum with user comfort and ergonomics in mind. The handles allow you to use your body to put pressure on the work piece, and there is an additional option of holding the tool upside down and adding a nylon strap through the handle to go around your foot which allows for more pressure and less strain on your body.

One of the most exciting features of this tool is that the rollers can be adjusted via the movable roller shaft. The roller shaft is a precision machined unit with internal sealed bearings, housed in an aluminum case. The entire unit is able to slide and relocate allowing clearance previously unavailable on roller style tools. The outside of the shaft is anodized and has a secondary function as a handle. The opposite handle is removable to allow for accessories. To relocate the roller shaft, simply loosen the stainless steel slide lock and adjust the location of the roller within the fixed channel then flip the switch and lock into place by hand.

This tool has the option of being chucked in a vice by the flat connective arch and used like a traditional roller which attaches to a dent rod. When used in this manner, other dent tools with a 1/2-13 thread size can also be used, such as our TearDrop Dent Balls, our full line of Dent Barrels, and many other standard size dent balls you already have in your arsenal.

Hardened hex end hardware makes for easy assembly and disassembly. Each end can be removed with an open end wrench so it’s simple to change out the rollers and easy to adjust.

The Slide-Lock Roller Tool comes with 3 different roller attachments machined from 303 grade stainless steel that will not rust or need oiling between uses.

• 1” Concave Roller: great for flute head joints, flute bodies, trumpet valve casings, and small diameter tubing
• 1” Truncated Concave Roller: same as the 1” concave roller but shortened to allow you to work right next to ribs and posts on flutes and small diameter tubing.
• Multipurpose Conical Roller: Designed for use on various tapered tubes or saxophone bells in conjunction with a Saxophone Bell Mandrel. The tool is double sided, and when reversed, the truncated end allows you to work close to posts and ribs.

This amazing tool can also be used with our 14” Extension. This Extension is made from the same aerospace 6061 grade anodized aluminum as the tool itself. The Extension threads into the handle of the Roller Tool and is used to add leverage and stability when rolling out dents. This gives the technician a lot more control and allows for faster more consistent results! The Extension comes in MusicMedic Blue and is included in our “Ultimate Kit” or can be purchased separately.
