DetailsMartin tenors are unique American made horns with beveled soldered on tone holes, wire bell key guards, and lots of floral engraving. They are revered for their full, dark tone. This Martin tenor came to us in rough mechanical and cosmetic shape, so we decided to have some fun with the restoration. We added lots of modifications, fabricated new parts, and gave this tenor the "Walker Brown" finish instead of our usual satin silver. The re-engraved gold floral design really stands out against the satin finish, which has a vintage style patina that is coated with clear lacquer. This tenor is in the midst of receiving an Uberhaul with full mechanical restoration. This instrument required some extra body work, including removing and re-soldering all of its tone holes. We fabricated a new neck tenon and receiver to give the neck a perfect fit. A new low Eb guard was made faithfully in the classic Martin style. Adjustable Teflon balls were added to the octave rocker in order for it to operate quietly and without lost motion. Key contacts were added under the G and side C keys for a solid feel. Adjustment screws with a slider were added to the F# to G# and F# to Bb connections for reliable and simple set-up adjustments. It will be given all new gold needle springs, new pearls, new rollers, and RooPads EXTREMES. All of our saxophones come with Pad Magic, Ultimax Key Oil, a MusicMedic.com Microfiber Cloth, a MusicMedic.com Swab, and plated horns come with Tarnishield Strips. No mouthpiece or case included. We do have some older cases, so if you are interested let us know and we'll see what we can find. We recommend purchasing a new sturdy case and can help you find the right one if you would like.
