This Selmer MKVI Tenor came to us in need of some serious love, but it's going to be an absolute dream once it leaves the Sax ProShop. These highly desirable tenors are known for having an elusive sound and projection. We know this one is going to scream once we're done with it. This MKVI will be receiving an Uberhaul with extensive mechanical restoration. We will be leaving its original lacquer intact, around 70%. Though it has certainly seen some action and obtained a few bumps along the way, the body of this tenor will be brought back to excellence. We will be fabricating a new neck tenon to replace the worn one to ensure proper neck fit and seal. Several tone holes are being repaired. Several dents will be removed, in addition to cleaning up some old solder jobs.
Next, we will be installing all of our most popular Selmer MKVI tenor modifications. The octave rocker will be modified with expandable teflon balls to make the octave mechanism quiet and free of lost motion. The Side Bb and Side C noisy ball connections are being replaced with forked connections. The Side Bb and C will also be receiving contacts to give them a solid feel against the body. An adjustment screw will be added to the Low B to Low C# connection.
Key touch-pieces will be lacquered so the player's hands will not be in contact with bare brass. Risers will be added to the palm keys- if you reserve early, you can decide whether they are made from cork and clear epoxy or Ryanite TM. This horn will be receiving new gold plated needle springs, all new pearls, and RooPads EXTREMES.
All of our saxophones come with Pad Magic, Ultimax Key Oil, a MusicMedic.com Microfiber Cloth, a MusicMedic.com Swab, and plated horns come with Tarnishield Strips. No mouthpiece or case included. We do have some older cases, so if you are interested let us know and we'll see what we can find. We recommend purchasing a new sturdy case and can help you find the right one if you would like.
