X Brace for Baris and Basses
Wimpy bell-to-body braces can be replaced with a sturdier and more supportive X-brace. It's our theory that it may also improve the sound of the instrument. A perfectly executed installation of a solid brace means that there is no tension in that joint, which would increase the resonance in the horn.
And here's the newly installed X Brace.
An increasingly popular modification for baritones and basses has been to double up with two X braces between the body and bell. Players who desire extra stability in their instrument will appreciate how sturdy two X braces be.
