Most lathes arrive to the customer in individual pieces that are coated in a thick grease, and require the operator to spend up to 16 hours cleaning, assembling, balancing, and testing to get started. This is a particularly challenging process for a first time lathe user. One of the most difficult situations is when there is chatter (vibrating in the machine), excessive noise or other operating problems and the novice operator is unsure if the problem is in their lathe set up. The daunting task of setting up a lathe the first time and never knowing if it’s set up correctly may be the biggest reason that most small to medium size shops don’t cary this handy tool.
Aside from the difficulty of set up, most lathes also arrive with stock parts that technicians replace with upgrades. Parts like quick change tool holders, a keyless chuck, and Digital Read Out can replace the slower less useful parts that come on as stock parts on a lathe. The stock parts, once replaced, are never used again and usually take up some room in a shop drawer until they are thrown away. The MusicMedic Mini Lathe arrives fully loaded with all the accessories you need and is ready to use in just a few easy steps. The quick change tool holder inserts even house the tools mounted in them. Our in-house machinist sets up and tests every lathe, doing everything possible to make your lathe operating experience simple and successful.
The MusicMedic Mini Lathe comes standard with another important feature: help. If you have any issues or questions, call us and one of our technicians will talk you through it.
