RooPads™ for Piccolo are one of the most exciting pads to come out of our MusicMedic.com Pad Company. Saxophonists and clarinetists have been able to experience the long lasting and consistently great results of RooPads™ for many years now, but it took some time training specialists within our Pad Company to be able to offer them for Piccolo. These tiny pads must be hand assembled within an extremely narrow margin, and we are proud to say that the RooPads™ for Piccolo are just as consistent and premium quality as the rest of the line.
RooPads™ for piccolo are extremely flat and firm, yet still offer some forgiveness around the tone hole. Here's how:
The pads start with a firm backing to hold the pad level. Glued to that is our Deep-Weave™ premium pressed felt. Next, we wrap the pad in a layer of bladder skin for air and water tightness. This is where most pads are finished, yet we're just getting started! Around this firm and consistent base, we wrap a layer of our highest quality and thinnest RooPad™ kangaroo leather. The leather is adhered to the backing and pressed to have a flat and level back.
RooPads™ for Piccolo take some of the headache out of installation. The RooPad™ leather conforms more to the tone hole than a bladder pad could ever dream of, and best of all, these pads are quiet and don't stick. We've received reports from players who have switched to RooPads™ for Piccolo that the leather gives the piccolo a beautiful warm tone.
As with all of our premium pads, their successful installation relies on a foundation of good repair work and flat tone holes.
